Hi, my name is Tim J. Peters. I'm a Berlin-based design generalist with a focus on design leadership and strategic design.
As Head of UX & Strategy at SCHUMACHER — Brand + Interaction Design, I work with a talented team of designers, strategists and developers.
I completed my Master's degree at FH;P's renowned Interface Design track in Potsdam. Before and after that I worked in different agencies for a range of clients from DAX30 to SMEs, NGOs and several exciting start-ups. Please find my full CV below.
I am passionate about creating human-centred concepts, services and applications with a focus on sustainability, usability and purpose. My work is determined by the urge to make the world a better and easier place for everyone, starting with design and technology that puts humans in the forefront. Research, design and development of adaptive and narrative multimedia systems aimed at finding new and improved ways of human-computer interaction. Based at my university. In partnership with business institutions such as the ULB and the Staedel Museum Frankfurt.
Design and create handmade unicums in the areas of web, UI and print for businesses, professionals and associations.
Especially the contact with my first real clients as well as the challenge of making my work fit perfectly to the needs of customers from different business segments endorsed and motivated me to get better every day.
As an Emergency Medical Officer, I support the local Red Cross chapter within civil protection, medical services and operations. I also provide support with training and act as a first responder from time to time.
Within a volunteer year in social services (FSJ) I supplied people in medical distress and drove the ambulance car at German Red Cross' emergency medical service. For this, I did the training to become a paramedic, which I still maintain until today.
At different elections I helped counting the votes cast and review the propriety of the election.
Emphasis on AI and new mobility topics. Master’s project on the opportunities and challenges future mobility creates for society, businesses and cities from a strategic design standpoint. Graduated with distinction.
During my masters I took part in a cooperation course in the fields of digital humanities. This resulted in an invitation to the Massachusetts Intitute of Technology to speak about new ways of making a use out of art collections using artificial intelligence.
Gained skills in the fields of concept- and UX design, prototyping and coding. Started to reflect the work as a designer in a wider social and technological context. Interdisciplinary and project-based approach. Graduated with first-class honours.
Studied Multimedia B.A. Hons. at a partner university and got in touch with the beautiful country and friendly people of Ireland and with internationals from all around the world.

CSR Day is one of Bavaria's largest networking events on sustainability. I spoke about how companies can position themselves more crisis-proof after Covid, what this means for leadership and employees and why digitalization, innovation and new work play a crucial role in this.
I've always had a distinct interest in the ongoing political debate about the balance between security and individual freedom and rights. In the run-up to the German federal election I was invited to argue with Angela Merkel about this topic at prime time in front of an audience of millions.
